I'm shocked at the severe negative reviews about Simmons! Sure students may complain about the campus but they never leave! Sure we get the snooty opinionated princess types but those girls transfer by spring semester.

The professors here are wonderful. I honestly feel like they are a part of my family. I can casually chat with them over lunch and email them whenever a personal issue comes up. They are extremely flexible with their hours and very approachable. Professors are also genuinely passionate about their course of study and they will frequently use their prior work experience to run parallels with what you are learning in class.

Also the comm department is extremely fun and entertaining. Free food is doled out a lot and you get a very hands on experience when studying Communications. Professors joke around quite frequently yet despite the colloquialisms they still earn respect.

I also don't understand where all of you got the idea that the campus was cold since I can say hi to everyone on campus and strike conversation. The majority of students are really dedicated to schoolwork so it's easy to misinterpret business with "being cold"

Also we're a womens college. You're going to get the feminist statement far too often. If celebrating what makes our school unique too "feminist" for you then perhaps this isn't the right school for you.

Also the campus is quiet and perfect for studying people party off campus where all the guys are. It's the perfect balance of fun nightlife in the city and a quiet oasis to study.

As far as the financial aid office goes yes I agree I really do have a hard time with help here. You really have to be on top of your game and to take initiative about it when you come here. As a first generation immigrant student I'm doing all the paperwork myself and it's confusing

Health services also doesn't do squat. You have to go through a ton of red tape to get anywhere most people just get a separate doctor off campus. I was also diagnosed with depression recently and the counseling center wasn't very helpful.

In the end it really depends on what cons you are willing to live it. Personally the professors and the friends and the bonds I have made here have been extremely beneficial for me and I have learned and grown and have been inspired by all of them. I love my department, I love the location, and I love the professors here. Isn't loving your education important?
