Butler is exactly what it presents itself to be: a small liberal arts college. When you go to a small school you can't expect a massive party scene, however being 5 minutes outside of Downtown Indianapolis definitely has its benefits (both social and career related). The academics are excellent - not ivy league but definitely better than most universities. The student population is rather homogeneous however the Dance program is one of the top 5 in the nation, the Fine Arts school is prestigious as well, so there is a strong counter-culture as well. Greek life is huge, so be prepared to encounter many sorority girls and frat boys who think they're the only ones at the school. Honestly, there is a niche for everyone.
