The community and the university are both very small-minded. There is no "college experience" to be had here, unless you are a Mormon or from a very small rural area. The university administration is incredibly incompetent and apathetic. (compared to 3 other colleges where I've taken some classes) Some of the professors are adequate but none seem to be be concerned about preparing students for the real world.Boise is a fairly safe community. You probably won't be attacked walking home alone at night. That's the only positive I can think of at the moment.
