I have been at the univeristy of kentucky now for a full year. I am an out-of-stater/turkey to kentucky and I still absolutely love it. I thought coming here from NJ would be a tough change, but the first day I got here there were tons of exciting events and I met so many people. Everyone is looking to make friends and you always meet new people.

Afraid of a big campus? The one thing that made my choose UK is a cheesy quote my tour guide said to me.

you can always make a big school small, but you can never make a small school big.
UK can be seen as a smaller campus by joining events and activities (and there is one for everything). The nightlife is always happening and people are always hanging outside south campus until 4-5 in the morning having fun and meeting new people.

The dorms here are a tricky thing to decide on. You have north, south, and central campus. North campus is the closest to most of the classrooms, however nightlife over on north is vacant compared to south. South is where 13 dorm rooms are (including suites) and where there is a huge section in between the dorms for people to sit. Central is where the all girls and all boys dorms are, I suggest you live on south.

The food here is great and the 5 meal plan and 300 flex dollars has suited me more than enough. The staff are all extremely friendly and I get emails from some of my teachers everyday checking up on how i'm doing and asking me about my family (after events like the hurricane in NJ this past year.) They care and want to help. Some teachers are hard, and some are here just for the money like every other school. So far i've only had 1 teacher I have disliked, but I stuck to his class because he taught very well.

The library here is also amazing, it's a must see. I did not not want to come to UK originally when my father told me to apply, but after seeing the campus I was in love. The school spirit here is amazing and it's worth seeing.

UK was the best choice I made, I will never regret it.

questionI am also from new jersey. I currently go to a college in the state and am looking to transfer to UK. I was also looking to major in kinesiology as well. Is greek life and the partying lifestyles really that big on campus? and how are the classes for kinesiology majors?
