NYU is a big school but after a while I guarantee you will find your niche of friends. I lived in Goddard a "res-ed" dorm and that allowed me to actually get to know the people who lived on my floor! I am still best friends with people from that floor and I am dating one of them. No matter what your first semester will probably be tough, in fact I didn't like NYU until my second semester freshman year came around. BUT IT WAS SO WORTH THE WAIT! It takes time to adjust to New York, but once you have its the funnest place to be. GO to the club fair and all the little lame events NYU throws on. You WILL meet people and bond (even if its over the fact that NYU can be a little annoying). COME JOIN THE QUIDDITCH TEAM!!! There are soo many clubs looking for new people all the time! Or if you really want to meet people STUDY ABROAD is an awesome way to become super close with other students really fast. I did the NYU in Paris and it was an experiences like no other. There are so many resources NYU has to offer! Just DONT stay in your room, go to club meetings, hang out in your hall (mainly a freshman dorm thing), befriend people in your class (super duper useful) and you will succeed at this school! If you are thinking about being pre-med this is for you. NYU has an awesome but difficult program. No one is going to hold your hand, but if you come out on top you WILL get into med school, you've got to want it. Research positions are super competitive so try and do research in a field that is not necessary Bio or Chem. Med schools just want you to show you have done SOME sort of research.
