My number one mistake upon going to this campus was arriving with high expectation. I expected the student body to be up-beat with "Aggie spirit" and have a mature eager attitude toward learning. You can in turn expect a student body similar to that of a middle school, an awkward mix of kids who act as if they are in summer camp, away from their parents for the first time. Education- overall that of a public high-school. Library closes at 1am, so no place to study after that. Professors ditzy (one even lost one of my tests), poor english, more concerned with their own studies, show high lack of interest in their actual class. wi-fi absolutely awful all around campus.Social life- Non existent. after about 9pm, you can expect students to be tucked away in their dorms, watching tv or playing xbox. during the weekends, the campus feels like a ghost town. Never been to a real party, because what these students call a "party" is really just a small get-togetherStudents- mostly small town, seems like they come from highly sheltered upbringings. don't care to academically challenge one another, and really don't care about grades at all. Most seem highly depressed, bored and unmotivated. Best way i can describe a typical student's feeling about this place would be that of a caged animal in a grey damp room having nothing to do but run around in circles, and having plastic to eat.Campus- gloomy, old, floods often, no food after 7, small, construction everywhere, not very attractiveDorms-old,moldy, damp, cold, small, overall not comfortableFaculty/Staff- two words… Complete Joke … (although would recommend Meredith as a councilor though, she seems to be the only one who really cares, and doesn't feed u this B.S, if fact, she went to cstat)when attending this campus, i guarantee you will hear "galveston carries the same traditions as College Station, just a smaller campus" i honestly forget im even at an A&M affiliated campus sometimes, no one has ever said "Howdy" to me, no one wear school shirts, and i feel out of place if i do,the corps is not serious in the least, defiantly not what id expect from an A&M school.
