This school is wonderful for getting a good job after graduation (unless you have a lit/history/ect degree).

I can't speak for the dorms (most smart people live off campus). I found a great apartment via facebook! This school isn't like some of the more famous mainland schools, but getting laid is fairly easy. All you have to do is help the foreign students understand a few concepts here and there, converse on a global level, and have a car (any car:)). Most of the people that complain about the social life of the school are either fat, old as hell, stinky, or too self absorbed to try to get to know people. My list includes a few from Sweden (one two-for), and Saudi national, a Russian, and one Thai… Just remember… the smart, well dressed, open minded dudes win here. This is not a dumb jock school, but being fit helps. If you like 31 flavors, this is your school. The weather is great approx 350 days out of the year, with heavy rain taking up the rest.

On a serious note, I had no issues getting great job offers after finishing my BA in Human Resource Development. I also found a company that would allow me to pursue my MA in HR Management (As long as I finished in 12 months- I'm in my capstone class now). HPU's MA in HRM is approved by SHRM (a great way to boost your education in the interview process).

Parking sucks, but if you take night classes it's only 3 bucks. This is the best time to go, after class you can stroll around the corner and have drinks with your classmates. Most of the international students don't have cars (get one if you can!!!) welcome to the bonus round.

This is a COMMUTER school, no big deal. There are plenty of activities to get into. You are in downtown Honolulu, minutes away from Waikiki, and other areas of interest.

Don't listen to the people that say Hawaiians hate white people, as long as you are cool and open to other cultures- you'll have the time of your life. If you are the type that loves to have fun with anyone, you'll do just fine. If you come to Hawaii with the same old arrogant, I'm privileged attitude, you will hate it here—Beat it! If you are of any other ethnic culture, you are GOLDEN! Especially if you are a good looking African American/Hispanic/Other… Get ready for an experience like none other (I mean that in the best way possible).
