Overall, I would have to say that I have definitely enjoyed my time at the University of Kentucky. However, that may not be the case for all students. I was a part of a well-known fraternity at the school, which made my transition much easier- being from out of state. I was able to meet people right off the bat and had something to do every weekend, starting from my first week at school. I have heard that the social life at UK is not as pleasant when one is not involved with the Greek community. It would be an understatement to say that UK is all about the "Greek Life." I highly recommend that one joins the Greek community.

On terms of education, lets be honest… If you go to any public university the first two years are easy and not very challenging. You can literally get by doing your studying/papers the night before. If you stick with it and get into upper level classes, then you will begin to enjoy your education and what it has to offer. I will say that UK is a great school for networking and finding jobs. Whether that is in Lexington or not, becomes irrelevant. Big Blue nation exists all over the country- trust me.

If you are looking for a large variety of choices on the weekends, then go to USC in Los Angeles or UT in Austin. Lexington does not have a professional sports team, the horse racing is seasonal, the metro population is not too big, and lets be honest- only basketball season is really worth the time. The fall semester is usually fun, because visiting other SEC schools during football season is just fucking stellar (and other teams don't give a shit about the UK game, its a drinking session). HOWEVER, the spring semester at UK is extremely hard to beat!! That's when people from other schools come to Lexington. UK is a traditional SEC school that focuses its weekends on drinking Thursday-Sunday at local bars, houses, or fraternity parties. I just so happen to love the traditional SEC way, so it works for me. If you are not a fan of greek life, horse racing, basketball, baseball, drinking, or using football games as an excuse to tailgate- UK is not for you.

The women on campus are beautiful, but don't get it twisted.. it's no Alabama, Ole Miss, or Arkansas. It is, however, one of the best schools in the country to find girls at. No worries on that end. The SEC is just loaded with talent when comes to women.

Final words- Greek life, UK sports, horse racing, local (decent) bars.
