Lack of diversity, huh? Translation: too many white folks. My oh my, isn't that such a terrible thing. |
I don't think he is speacking of race diversity. Its too bad you didn't have a great experience, but you are incorrect that many others transferred. UNE as one of the lowest transfer or non-returning student rates. Because you were unhappy doesn't make everyone else. Freshman year is difficult for many students. Good luck and I hope you find a school that make you happy. |
Major: Nursing (This Major's Salary over time)
I attended UNE for my freshmen year and then transferred as did many other freshmen in my class. The big problem which I found with UNE was that the school lacked diversity tremendously. There was really only one social class of people here and this made for a very monotonous and arid social scene. I found that many students came from very small towns from small high schools. I come from a different background and therefore found that there was little to do on campus much less off campus. In general students had a very judgmental and narrow-minded attitude making it perfect for cliques to form, reminding me too much of high school. If you are someone who can look past the social scene and dull surrounding area and focus entirely on your work, you may be perfect for UNE.
