Major: Art & Design Department (This Major's Salary over time)
B-Ws REPUTATION: I am going to be completely honest about my experience at B-W. I have gone to a couple other school since, so I have a pretty good idea of comparison. I LOVED my time at B-W. I grew as an adult, and I learned a great deal about my major (art). The school has an excellent reputation, and when applying for jobs, I often hear
Oh, you went to B-W!
when I am in an interview. Their name definitely looks good on my resume - for me, the people who were most impressed were those in the education field, and occassionally the art field.

ART DEPARTMENT: I LOVED—LOVED—my professors in the art department. They were ALL amazing, even though they all had very distinct and different personalities. They were wonderful and definitely made a positive impact on me.

BUSINESS DEPARTMENT: B-W has been doing a lot with their business department. I was in that dept. for a couple years, but decided it wasnt for me. The professors there seemed nice, they taught well, however there was one professor/counselor who I found to be rather chauvinist. I called him on it once, and he seemed to quit, at least with me. He used to tell me that women arent good in business. He didn't like it when I came back to B-W and told him I owned a successful business for 2 years at the time. He was still rude then, though, too. But, thats one idiot in a pool of awesome professors.

ON & OFF-CAMPUS LIFE: Let's be honest…B-W is not a huge school. But, I will tell you this: When I went there, there were a couple good bars around that EVERYONE went to on Thursday nights, and it was a ton of fun. There were often 3-5 house parties going on on a given night, all within walking distance from one another. Berea is also close to downtown (where all the great culture is at), and Lakewood, where there are great bars for those over 21 (They I.D., fyi). I liked to party, but my education was also pretty important to me since I always enjoyed school…so I liked the fact that I didn't go to a state "party school." We still all knew how to have fun, and since it was a smaller school, we got creative with how we had fun, which I think made it all even better. If its your thing, you can also join a fraternity or sorority. I did that for a year. It was okay, but wasn't my thing. Great way to meet a lot of people though.

All-in-all, I would recommend BW to anyone looking for a school with a great reputation. I learned about who I was too, and this is a school who accepts diversity. You will walk by someone on the street, and they will say hi…even if you dont know them.
