This is the most rip off college i know. They are all about money and delaying your advancement so you could take more classes, thus pay more. When I decided to come to NYIT it was because they offered me a scholarship for my "academic excellence". When i arrived they told me that i could not take the initial courser of my major and that i had to take other classes for two years and then take my studio class 101. They told my that because i was an international student i did not know English that well and they were "concerned" about my progress. Bullsh**, because when i did register online against their advise, they requested me to drop and when i asked them of they had the power to drop me they said "NO" because I was the one that took the risk to take the class. The adviser even told me i was going to fail and then they would drop me from the program. Well i did take the class and i took an A; the international student that " did not understand English". The thing that upsets me the most is that i understand that the share holder of NYIT want to make money but what is the advantage of the administration that they treat students as charity cases but with no understanding towards them. It looks like the advisers work on commission. My advice is for you out there to not spend your or your parents money on this institution.

If this review is being read my the so called advisers of NYIT, you should know that what goes around comes around and if in the future you kind comes ans says to you how bad they were treated by advisers, just say "i am sorry, its my fault"
