Major: Nursing (This Major's Salary over time)
The Nursing department is unorganized and there are always problems with registration. Students often feel lost and uninformed about important matters like registration and health clearances. Also, they never have srubs, materials, and books available for purchase. There is almost always a waiting list for those things. As for clinicals, I feel that HPU does not provide us with enough hands on experience and they are always cutting clinicals short. Lectures are pointless as most of the time you are reading information from the text books and teaching yourself. I understand that no University is perfect, but for the amount of money we pay for this private school, I feel that HPU does not meet my expectations. The faculty is unfriendly and condescending. Recently, I sent an email to the director of nursing about summer school registration. Not only did she not answer my question, but the tone of the email was (with lack for better words) bitchy.
