Major: Math (This Major's Salary over time)
Most of my Mathematics instructors are arrogant, aloof, and lack teaching skills when they actually teach. The mathematics department thrives on either having students drop out or take the same classes over. I believe it is called making certain you have enough teaching positions in the future—students and their true accomplishments are quite secondary. I have seen many mathematics classes start out with 30 or so people—and have eight students in a given class who stayed for a grade. The other 22 or so withdrew; these were all upper division Mathematics classes at Cal State Fullerton. A UCLA study of Public Universities in the United States, covering the entire country, indicated that generally it takes one to two years longer for a Mathematics major to attain their Bachelor's Degree.
