If you noticed, all of the previous comments come from freshman biology majors. Most of the comments sound like they are from the typical freshman who came to see that college is not one big party anywhere you go. I went to Kentucky for a year and then came home and attended BenU for 2. Kentucky is RULED by greek life, and if you are not greek you will not have a good experience at a school like that, and if you are there is a 50 percent change you will fail your classes and end up home. What these people need to realize is you have to pick and choose what you want out of a school. If you're expecting huge college frat parties every night then no, Benedictine is not for you. But the people here are extremely friendly and inviting, more than at a big school like Kentucky. The academics are great and you are not treated like just a number. Downtown Naperville is a short 5 minute drive from campus, so if you live on campus find someone with a car and go have fun downtown, there's bars everywhere and tons to do. People do have parties in the apartments right on campus. It's easy to meet people and even as a commuter for one year I had an amazing experience. Don't listen to those who have ONE YEAR of college experience behind them. They have nothing to compare this school to, and it's actually an amazing school.

responseActually I transferred along with a large portion of my class because the school is as we described.

Extremely friendly and inviting? The experiences that many people had at BU were quite the contrary.

Lisle is a boring place. Naperville is much better. I'd advise going to NCC over BU. The science program at BU is also a joke and considered a joke by many med schools and graduate programs. Teachers who used to teach at BU think it's a joke. Older friends have applied to jobs and gotten turned down because BU isn't taken seriously.

Coming from a science major the school I transferred to is much better socially, aesthetically, academically, and has much more than the championed muslim/white diversity that BU offered me.

Tell me why BU had one of the largest freshmen transfer rates out of any college in the Midwest last year. Oh wait we were all just a bunch of stupid freshmen amiright?

P.S. The girls are better at the school I transferred to as well. Sorry honeybuns. #benuratchets

responseNo one is expecting huge frat parties, and not everyone is a freshman Biology major. What your saying is wrong and I don't know what world you live in. Yes the school is small and great in terms of academics but the people here are terrible and cheating here is notorious. Seriously, you are completely wrong when you look at all the comments.
Wow you were a management major .. good job on half ass-ing college .
responseI have to agree. Ben U has a major issue with Freshman transferring out. One of the largest transfer rates and it will not get any better any time soon. President Carroll has made it quite clear that he doesn't care if students transfer out. If you aren't happy, instead of trying to figure out why students are happy and changing things (yes that is possible President Carroll) he encourages students to transfer. My daughter is a freshman and just met with him on Monday in regards to some major issues at his University and his response was "transfer." Needless to say, BU showed their true colors Monday. They don't care about their students, their concerns, or maintaining enrollment, they are more concerned with the stupid "we are the fastest growing campus in the nation" Who gives a crap if you aren't taking care of the students you already have. President Carroll you should be ashamed and I hope that corporate donors and future students make the right choice to endorse schools that put their students first.
