Overall, my UNE experience has many positives and also some negatives. I agree with everyone on here in saying that une does not have any nightlife whatsoever- but I didnt come to college to waste hundreds of thousands of dollars to party, so I was never bothered by that. If your intention is to party, do not come here. If your intentions are to get a good education and someday succeed in a career, I highly recommend UNE.

Most of the higher ups- presidents, deans, etc. don't care about the students- they care about the money. They make it pretty evident. But the faculty here, at least in my department, is amazing. The small classes make it easy for them to get to know you and they take the time to make sure you are getting what you need- they are accessible, approachable, and all around good people- for the most part (there are always exceptions.) this university not only emphasizes doing well in the classroom, but real life experiences (internships, volunteer work, research, etc). I can only speak for the psychology department though. Most people who go here are in majors that are med focused, which are also good programs, but I think it gets forgotten how great some of the arts and sciences programs are. The psychology department is phenomenal and I highly recommend it from experience.

This is a pretty small campus, so everyone does get to know each other- at times, it can feel a little like high school. But, like in anything else, there are people I get along with and people I don't. If you come to any small school like une, you have to work hard to find true friends- but when you do, you can find people who will last a lifetime.

Overall, I recommend une. It's very expensive, the food isn't great, and the social aspect lacks a bit- but you get a great education, the campus is beautiful, the dorms are nice, and the people are caring. If I had to do it all over again, I think I'd still choose une.
