I've attended both brick and mortar schools and online schools. I have never had a GPA lower than 3.75 since high school, and have received scholarships, and been accepted in to numerous colleges since then. I chose to go to Walden because it makes sure the faculty and staff are quite knowledgeable in their fields, and up-to-date on current research, legislation, and accreditations. I recently transferred from a popular brick and mortar school in NYC to Walden this Fall and must say that I am completely humbled. They follow the scholar-practitioner model of education, and will guarantee that you are up to par on your research writing skills. I cannot tell you how many times I have felt like giving up because my work was so heavily scrutinized, however, months later I have realized just how much I have improved. Just about everything that I write or discuss is empirically based and research driven. These professors know their stuff and have been very resourceful in providing their expertise and real life experienced in the field. Therefore I am appalled after reading the negative comments. Walden University is NO diploma mill!!!!!!!!!!!! This school is regionally accredited and has also received program accreditations, which are difficult for traditional colleges to obtain. When you have programs like CACREP behind you, trust and believe you are getting a quality education. I compare the information I get from Walden with other students in other schools, and they are blown away by how much I have grown since I left the other institution. So please consider the positive reviews before harping on the negative ones. Perhaps those with negative experiences were not prepared for the tedious requirements of virtual learning. I hope this helps.
