I am a graduate of the Healthcare Administration Program at Eastern Michigan University, and I would not recommend this program to anyone. First of all, my biggest mistake was first not comparing how this program was organized/structured with other colleges. For example, other Healthcare Admin. program's have internships (at least one)as a mandatory part of the program (An internship obviously provides a great way to obtain real-world job experience mandatory to get an entry-level job). Another concern that I have with the EMU Healthcare Admin. program provides NO career guidance whatsoever for their students! Again, other schools do have career and employment assistance for their students. Some of these schools actually provide an overview for others to see regarding how well the graduates are doing with employment. My final suggestion is to talk with the advisor to find out what they offer (measurably) for a new student towards employment assistance … And, do your homework!
