Your response to my blog was impicating and erroneous , so I'll give you a dose of your own. I have had some wallflower ugly friends meet career friends, wives and parihiouners that fulfilled eveything expected what a Church membership and school could provide. Some of what you wrote, you actually realize some of your writing is incorrect, story falsely told . … |
Major: Political Science (This Major's Salary over time)
While my department is great, this school is awful. I wish this department was at another school because my professors in the poll sci department are the best in the country by far. They belong at Ivy League colleges, the only reason they are at ACU is because of personal and family ties to the town and the college. Going to a liberal Arts college, specifically ACU is easily the worst decision I have ever made in my entire life. Most of the students are either arrogant jerks on the athletic side or arrogant jerks on the nerd/hipster side. There are no normal people here. All the girls that are single are either crazy, ugly, have issues, or run around. So even though it is like a 1 guy to 4 girls ratio, and they sell that to male prospective students, while that is true, it is not representative of the number of girls you would actually want to date. Unless you are brad pitt, you aren't finding a girl that is wife material here. The hipsters on campus, and they are the majority, are unbearable, its as if I went to some hippie community college in Seattle or San Francisco, and they are mean as snakes! They look down on people outside of there group, even other hipsters. At least the jocks mostly leave people alone. The town is so boring it makes me want to cry, the only things open after 10 is whataburger, which has a huge crowd on the weekends, like a 20 minute wait for a burger and God forbid you go through the drive through, and this one "club" called guitars that sucks. I worked in clubs back in Dallas. I know what a good lounge/bar/club looks like and how it works regardless of style or type of person they want to bring it, this place is has multiple personality disorder. Rap music one second then slow country the next, then metal, the djs suck and have no clue how to read a crowd. Pick a genre and stick to it, or have theme nights where all you do is that theme. Quit playing slip not next to lil john and conway twitty. Also, the bartenders are rude and the drinks are watered down to levels that warrant a lawsuit for fraud. The police crack down on parties too much too, what do you expect us to do in a town that shuts down at six? And these are not crazy, college parties you see on tv, these are parties that are rivaled by children's parties. With the rare exception, they only way you might assume a party is happening is the amount of cars out on the street. No loud music, no crazy stunts, nothing warranting arrests or even fines most of the time.
Don't even get me started on the dust, this place looks like the middle east when the dust storms blow in, which is often. The wind whips up this red stuff that coats everything, and it is near constant. The price of the school is outrages too, the place is older than the dirt its built on and everything is broken, but you pay an arm and a leg to go here. Its like all the money is going to drug habits the board members have, or they just burn all the money at the beginning of every semester. In summary, even if your parents will only support you financially if you go here or they "force" you to go here, don't. If they loved you and knew anything they wouldn't force a decision on their kid, and they would allow you to go to a school you might actually enjoy and get your money's worth. If all they will chip in for is this, forget it, take out loans or go to community college for basic credits first and save money. If they banish you from the family because of your choice for college, forget them, they don't care for you like they should.
