Eastern Michigan is a great school if all your looking for is an education. The professors are nice and easy to understand and get along with. The courses are pretty challenging even the 100 level courses tend to cause problems. You definitely have to work hard to get the grade you want. I think EMU does a good job at making students better fir for the real world. In a lot of major they give you real life experience rather then book work. EMU is located around cities where you may be able to get a job right out of college. Ann Arbor, Brighton, Howell, Detroit/all surrounding cities, Lansing, Toledo. As far as Ypsilanti goes it's not the nicest city to be in. If your looking for the full college experience like living in the dorms meeting new people and having a good social life, that is REALLY hard here. Most of the people that go here are commuters from neighboring towns like Saline, Ann Arbor, Canton etc. Living in the dorms is not going to be the best socially. Your floor usually doesn't get together hardly ever and it's tough to meet people.
