What kind of violence are we talking about? |
Major: History/Histories (art history/etc.) (This Major's Salary over time)
Hope y'all have better luck but I wouldn't come here if I had any other choice. Real unfriendly campus, administration is a headache, housing is atrocious, surprised at all the racism on campus especially being from the South. It was unexpected in California but it's really bad here. Some positives about SJSU though. I guess good for techies and the like? Plenty of stuff to join but even joining it's very hard to connect!I went to this school with an extremely positive attitude and was determined to join clubs etc. on campus. I started out as a commuter and later moved to on-campus housing, because even though I joined a few clubs I couldn't connect at all. Housing was just awful in so many ways! I wouldn't and couldn't ever live there again. Anyhow after I left I joined a sorority. It wasn't a fit and I dropped after only one semester. I've joined clubs, had internships, lived on and off campus and I really have tried but nothing seems enjoyable here. Professors are hard to connect with. I was originally in the Sociology Department and they were just plain inaccessible but since switching the History Department has been just phenomenal Proff. Glendzel and the others in this department are just wonderful! As far as student life, lots of drinking and drugs and it really bothered me how extreme it was, and I'm not too judgmental. Seems like a big thing in Greek life, especially.Kappa Delta, AEPi and Kappa Sigma seem right nice though. Anyhow I've really tried to be happy and involved but I wouldn't recommend SJSU anybody. Also as a warning- inner city San Jose means a lot of violence especially for girls-be careful! That said, I'm transferring very soon.
