I came to UCO as a international student to pursue my American college dream, well mostly because at that time it was one of the cheapest schools, about 4000 a semester including all international fees. Thru 4 years there the cost grew a lot and there was a limited number of offered scholarships for internationals. If u go to a more expensive school u have a wide range of scholarships and with them the prices can drop even lower than UCO. People there are very nice and caring. Made lots of friends with whom still keep in touch. Talking about academics and especially Finance program. It is mediocre. I always joke but it is kinda true that the only classes that I took at UCO that helped me in my career are Humanities and Speech. Professors are very nice but some of them lack the ability to teach. They are good business experts but not great teachers. If u want to at least learn some finance take for any classes u can prof. Jung. He is kinda hard but he is the best and smartest teacher in Finance. Thanks to him after graduation entering into workforce i had some clue.9 I am a smart person. Graduated in tops of Business School. But now thinking back i wish I was more financially stable to go to a better school. I received some business scholarships, mostly due to leadership. I graduated during crises and if in years when i entered school as freshman 70%_80% of international students were finding a job. Closer to my graduation it dropped to 10%-15% percent. The brightest people i knew couldn't find any jobs that would finance their H1B. When they went back home they as well struggled with different methods of doing business back home. My brother transfered from UCO to a school in another State and I followed him for my OPT. Once I was helping him with one of the courses and was shocked. He was studying in his 2nd year intro to business staff that we learned in our last business class at UCO. Looking for jobs was hard during crises time. U go to an interview with a great GPA from UCO and a great personality. But u r just an international from a 3rd rate school when due to crises for the position are trying grads frop top schools. I did find a job not as great as i expected as a freshman entering UCO. Now I am back home holding a very good position in a top company but when i came back no one cared that i graduated from an American university somewhere in Oklahoma. They don't even know it existed. I had to start from lowest position and try my best for the top. I had to study everything from beginning. I am now planning to go do my MBA and definitely will not do the same mistake. I am only trying to get into top schools, they are more expensive but I am saving up. To sum up, i am thanful to UCO for a lot of things. There I developed my leadership skills and met a lot of great people. Academic wise i would have preferred something else. If u are planning to attened UCO with a perspective of finding a job in States choose Acounting. The program is good. Also perticipate i leadership opportunities offered at UCO. Due to them i received scholarships amounting in almost 10000. It is a small amount financing your studies as international student but it helped. Good luck to everyone
