I was on a grant trying to complete my MS and I was treated like I didn't matter. My grant info was lost each semester making me pay the late enrollment fee. My adviser was unapproachable and refused to help in anything. She was eventually fired but it didn't help me. My last semester she gave me an "F" on a one page paper that was a simple evaluation of one of the tests she was supposed to have in the library for us to check out. She had in her synopsis that we could evaluate if we were unable to use one of her tests. I had an "A" on my mid term and final exam so the "F" made no sense. She dropped me from my MS program. I went to UCM and completed an MS with a 3.8 grade point average. I would have had a straight 4.0 but I was working full time, raising 3 children by myself and still trying to escape my abusive husband. I tried to earn National Board Certification through UMKC but was denied, told it was too hard for me to achieve. I didn't even get to talk to the representative after failing to get in touch with her. I was finally able to track her down and contacted her through email but was told it was too hard. I don't believe it was her place to decide that for me. I had other problems with the university too many to mention.
