I'll admit that I spent my first year and a half rather unhappy. I didn't enjoy the dorms, personally, and didn't know many people. (Since then there have been many renovations and the dorm life is improving.) However, I finally switched into the right department which was rather small and provided an intimate atmosphere. The professors are extremely helpful, and the students friendly. I do think the people on this campus tend to form social groups that stay pretty separate, but that's just my opinion.

For me, the most important thing was learning how to enjoy the city, and take advantage of some of the extracurriculars offered here. Now that I'm in my final year, it looks like opportunities are everywhere. However my start was hard enough that I just didn't see them. If you're motivated to make the best of your time here, I think there's a good variety of options to allow for progress. It would be nice to see even more extracurriculars and student involvement however.
