West Chester was my top choice, and I was initially very excited to go there. The first thing I noticed right away was how terrible the social scene there is. I love going into town and doing things there, but the students are so self-absorbed and care about nothing but themselves. It was almost impossible to make friends in my four years there, because everyone who I thought was a friend was shallow and two faced. I was stalked by three different men while I went to West Chester, one of them in my freshmen year, and two of them in my senior year. My freshman year, campus public safety was really on top of it and helped me get a restraining order against the guy. My senior year, they took care of the first guy, but never caught the second one. He continued to stalk me for a while and I ended up being one of the timely warnings everyone gets emailed about. This was the most severe case I had but my other stalkers never touched me, and public safety brushed it to the side and never found the guy. For all I know, he's still at large and doing the same thing to other women on campus. I feared walking around at night and would call a cab to drive me back to my apartment when it was too late at night. My advice, carry pepper spray or something and be very careful in the area. On a separate note, the theatre department at West Chester is terrible. They are some of the most over-confident, egotistical, and non-inclusive people I've ever met. They don't like newcomers and only talk to people who are outrageously outgoing like they are. If you're shy, you will never be socially accepted in the theatre department and you'll feel like an outcast.
