Run as fast as you can in the direction of another two-year school! Everything about CSCC was a disaster; fiancial aid was functionaly illiterate, advisors didn't have a clue about program requirements, and instructors didn't know how to teach the material. CSCC has a "we are great" complex, but all they are out for is money. They will do anything humanly possible to get you to go there, and once they have their hooks in you, it's too late.

They tout their wonderful programs such as Rad Tech and Respiratory Tech… what they don't tell incoming students is that only 25 - 30 students per year get into the "choice" programs, and only then with tons of political or finiancial pull. But, even though your chances of getting a program slot are nil, in the meantime, they will have you maintain a full-time enrollment to maintina your "eligibility" for a program while you wait for the letter that will never come, thus giving CSCC their system wide nickname of "The home of the 96 hour Associates Degree". It's all about the money. I could go on and on about this joke of a school.

They aren't a good school if you want to transfer somewhere decent; most 4-year schools hate to take students from CSCC, with the exception of a couple of low-ranked state "diploma mill" schools. A better bet would be to go somewhere like Jackson State CC, or Nashville State if you were dead set on doing a two-year school before earning your Bachelors.

I totally agree with you about financial aid. They will make sure your classes are paid, but wait months to give you a refund from your loans that are YOUR MONEY! And they don't know what they are talking about because they told us they wait so long to give you your loan money because if you drop a class they have to pay your loan back which is not true AT ALL! Why would the school have to pay your loan back? They say that it is a federal law that they have to wait to give you your refund which isn't true at all because I know for a fact that other schools don't do it that way. At MTSU, students get their full refund the first day of class. How do they expect students to be able to pay for everything that they need to get their loan money for and why would a student even take out a loan if they are going to be forced to finish their classes without it anyway? The people who work at this school make themselves look so stupid because of the lies that they tell and the fact that they could care less about their students.
