APU has community like no other school. Having worked for our Freshmen Orientation program, "community" was, by far, the most commonly mentioned "favorite thing" about being a student here when I spoke with freshmen their first semester here.

Additionally, it's amazing how our faculty involve themselves with students. They generally want to go beyond the classroom int heir relationships with students and you will find you can actually get to know most of your professors.

This will be of great help when you need letters of recommendation for grad school and/or employment following graduation!To be fair, though, I should mention that the school is not perfect. For example, if you were hoping for banquet meals every day in the cafeteria, you should probably take a look at Biola!

The community at the school is unlike anything you will find anywhere else. The students are really cared for and loved by the faculty and staff and the teachers REALLY encourage you to form your own opinion about issues rather than just accepting what they say.

APU is an amazing school. It's a bit hard for transfers to get involved, but the school tries hard. To get the most out of the school I would recommend living on campus, even if there is very little to do around the campus. The nursing program is top rated and very competitive, so study hard if that is your goal!
