If you do not live on campus (thereQuite BrightComputer Engineering
If you do not live on campus (there are hundreds on the residence waiting list) then you are screwed. The bus system often skips campus due to overcrowding. there is no subway or train. There's just no way to get to/from class.

This is largely due to the fact that the campus itself is highly overcrowded. Most of my computer and chemistry classes are in a church hall (yes, a church hall) because there are not enough classrooms. And if you hope to find a nice quiet space to read, forget it. There isn't a corner on the floor that's free. Avoid!

Question
I chose this universityQuite BrightAnthropology
I chose this university because of the co-op opportunities that it gave me, but I'm not sure if its the best choice for me. Im from Toronto, and its hard being far from home in your first year. Great academics.

Question
Reasonably good preparation.Mechanical Engineering
Reasonably good preparation. Like all university, the chopping up of a field of knowledge into discrete courses leads one to see all trees and no forest. After mechanical engineering degree I felt I could do a lot of individual calculations, but no idea where to even start when looking at a global engineering problem. But I think that is a function of the way higher education is globally rather than a problem with this university. Also did some courses at Carleton University also in Ottawa, and generally preferred U of O and found it a bit friendlier.
