City College - Fort Lauderdale

I wish I would have researched on this school a little better. First of all when I enrolled the staff member had no idea what my program was about, yet he managed for me to enroll. 2nd They lost half of the students files and they put a "hold" on almost everyone, so I couldnt scheduled my classes. So, if I didnt re-do everything THEY lost(fingerprinting, drug test, and/or anything they were missing in my file) I didnt get to continue. (and they threatened me with Financial Aid consequences)- Yet, they allowed me to fillout my FAFSA application. It is obvious that they DO NOT care about Students and their Education. They only care about MONEY!!!.... I have also seen that some students barely go to class nor pass tests, yet they seem to pass their classes. ALL Teachers (except maybe 2 or 3)read off of power-points, the books are never used, and you barely learn anything. DO NOT ENROLL IN THIS SCHOOL, it will be a waste of your time.... 1 person can be wrong... BUT as you can see there is more than 10 people that dont consider this a place of learning!! and YOUR CREDITS ARE NOT TRANSFERED TO ANY OTHER COLLEGE.PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH!

Ive learned through City College that these schools only think about your money! Every Semester they raise they price yet they get teachers that don't know what they doing! Where is our money going? This school is nothing but a RIP OFF! The students are just as bad! They only here to get a Stipend! (Thats the non English speaking or understanding students)

I graduated in 2011 with my Associates in Science in MA. During my 2yrs at City College(on Commercial Blvd.) they have had 3 different directors in Allied Health. They are constantly changing their teachers & supposedly hiring teachers with a Masters. They are hiring underpaid people who can't teach. They read directly from the book & act as if they have no experience. Students are paying too much money for nothing. I have had no challenging tests & most of my experience was a waste of time. Some teachers have handed us test straight from the book, which were our practice test. I had to find my own externship site because I didn't want to be placed at an office that will keep me in the front of there office all day or not teaching me. So many students would complain about things that should have been rectified.

I am currently seeking a new school to major in nursing. I went to Florida Atlantic University, Broward College(Coconut Creek), Miami-Dade College & Keiser University(private university). BC only took 3 of my credits & Miami-Dade only took 2 my credits. Your credits from City College WILL NOT transfer over because there accreditation is different than other State Accredited schools. TRUST ME, I have done my homework! City College is a private institute. I only know of 3 teachers currently there who are experienced & don't need a book to explain the subject to you. They are enrolling too many students that DO NOT speak English. It?s very frustrating that this school only seeks money first. They preach a positive experience, however I guarantee that you'll receive an opposite one. They have unprofessional people working upstairs, especially in financial aid & in the lobby area. They have new registration counselors who will make you believe anything.

They only have graduation once a year & whether you choose to attend or not, you still have to pay $175 for cap & gown. Their graduation ceremony was a joke. No one was organized, everyone was so loud & all the waiting rooms were very hot. We had a great special speaker however she took so long & kept repeating herself. Pictures were too expensive for students. We had 2 students who walked & held our American Flag,they weren't dressed properly, almost dropped the flag. City College couldn't get an actual US Soldier. After the night was done, I wanted to leave as fast as I could. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT ATTEND ANY PRIVATE COLLEGES. I am now stuck doing an extra year of ONLY prerequisites, because they all DO NOT accept City Colleges credits. Mind you, this is an extra year before I even start my nursing program.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK & VISIT ALL THE SCHOOLS FIRST BEFORE YOU MAKE A MISTAKE AS I DID. IT?LL NOW TAKE ME LONGER TO GET MY NURSING DEGREE. I hope this helped!
