I was pleasantly surprised by the courses atQuite BrightComputer Science
I was pleasantly surprised by the courses at UNF. They do teach useful stuff and instructors go the extra mile to break down concepts and explain things clearly. Each professor I had was always willing to sit down with you and give you advice/direction. As a Computer Science major, I am satisfied with the professors and courses.

Question
I loved my time at UNF.Quite BrightArt & Design Department
I loved my time at UNF. I was an art major. The art faculty is stellar. Kyle Keith is so fantastic at teaching portraiture. Jason John is one of the most talented artists period, so being taught by him was an honor. Louise Freshman Brown is one of the most amazing human beings. I actually love her. She is open-minded, completely non-judgmental, and so helpful. They all have high expectations, but they treat you so well if you try hard. Social Life: There is a lot to do if you look for it--I was active about joining clubs and getting involved. There is enough diversity in the student body that there are friends for everyone! I'm sure some people were assholes, but I made the best friends ever there. The campus is on a nature reserve, so it is so very beautiful. I loved jogging the nature trails. I lived in the dorms for a bit and then moved to the beach. The beach killed the dorms. Basically, if I could remain a student at UNF for 4-10 more years I would do that. I loved it.

Question
I hated UNF my freshman year.Psychology
I hated UNF my freshman year. Housing was so strict and unhelpful. I ended up kicked out of the dorms and the school greatly improved for me. It's not a party school but I made a huge amount of friends easily and there was always something to do. No one goes to the school events but that's the Jacksonville vibe.

I loved my classes. It took a year but I always felt challenged and left extremely prepared for grad school and my life. Like any other school you have to put in the effort. Administration sucked but that is streamline for most universities.

Jacksonville beats to its own drum but once you figure it out it's an awesome place to be with many different parts of town with their own styles.

Not sure why people call it a commuter school, I didn't meet a local student until my junior year.Parking is not a joke. It's a serious, professional endeavor. You will never want for a parking space again once you leave. You will become a parking hawk.
