I'm in the CNA coarse beware!!!! They take your money,at anytime you can be dropped if you don't receive an 80% or better. Even if your over all test and class room score is higher then 80%. No refunds. The state says you have three times to pass the test with a score of 78%. You have to pass jjc with 1 try!! Their score is high because they drop everyone one prior!!!! BEWARE!!!!!

1st Year Female -- Class 2014

Jjc offers a good pitch but cant live up to it. I love the school but the housing, Centennial Commons, they offer is HORRIBLE. They have mice, roaches and spiders EVERYWHERE. They suck you in and bind you to a contract that you can only get out of by death ! Even after death your parents are stuck paying rent for the coming months. You can't have visitors. I go home every weekend . When I come back with groceries or a lot of things they won't let my mother through with her car. Not only did I have to cang all those things through the gate, they wouldn't even let my mom help me carry it through the gate! I had to take 4 very long trips to get all of my things in my apartment. They have so many ludicrous rules. They over charge for everything. The manager of the complex is very rude and snotty. I seriously don't understand why they even allow her to run the complex. There have been multiple fights, break ins amd robberies. Centennial Commons is not safe and they are going bankrupt. If you dont get any financial aid jjc is not for you. I dont advise any freshman to go here . Im only in my second semester here but this institute is a scam!

Campus Maintenance: A-, Education Quality: F

Okay, some students have a problem with some of the professors, but it is a very select few. All they require you to do is show up to class and actually do the work. College is about learning how to learn and think critically. The students who show up late and don't bother studying, fail. I used to think the same way. All I wanted, was that social life, but really that's not realistic. Campus security is pretty relaxed but is always present. I mean your not patted down at the entrance. They are always present and even walk around the library to make sure no one talks. If you get caught being to disruptive (to students trying to study) you get a five dollar ticket. This school has done wonders for me. (Private tutoring It's FREE!!!!) The students have their own thing. No one harasses one another like students would expect. This is not high school. Tests are so easy. Some professors allow open notes, open book, or they give you the answers to the questions a week before so you can study that material. If they give nothing, all you have to do is go to the back of the chapter and memorize the definitions and do the questions that's it. The school is old, but is being renovated. What you get out of this college is entirely up to you. If you choose to slack you will fail. Okay now for those of you, who like me, screwed up on your SAT's; you have a great opportunity to do good. If you do well, other schools will take you regardless of what your scores where. (Lewis University & University of St. Francis) Go to your professors office hours. Their office hours are required and you can get some one on one time with them. They will usually grant you some leniency on their tests if you show that you care and put forth the effort to better understand. (Honestly I think a lot of kids think college is about partying and letting loose but college life isn't like that. What you see in the media and what you experience will be two very different things. When I think about my life, I look to the future. I don't want to end up homeless freezing to death under a bridge in Chicago or working a dead end minimum wage job for the rest of my life. I want to be somewhere. Since the current economy has crashed now is the perfect time to go to school. The economy wont be normal for another five years anyways. The other nice thing about it, is that it's cheaper too. (Your room number is related to where it is like 2001 is second floor 3001 third ect.)

Any student thinking of attending this school I strongly suggest you familiarize yourself with the school before you go your first day. Walk around and find where you classes are located before classes begin. Just try here and you will succeed.
