Transylvania is a superb school for those whoPsychology
Transylvania is a superb school for those who are dedicated to getting the most out of their education. One of Transy's strongest assets is the dedication of the faculty. They are passionate and well informed about their field, and have a sincere desire to guide you towards success on both an academic and personal level. These are the professors with whom you form life long relationships. The student body is friendly, and campus quickly becomes a home. I could not say enough about this school!

Question
I love Transy, I really do.BrightPolitical Science
I love Transy, I really do. I almost attended the University of Kentucky but changed my mind last minute, and I am so glad I did.

First off, I am the epitome of middle class, and my family and I can afford this place (and I had a 3.5 in high school). The financial aid dept. is incredible. Yes, you may have to take out loans, but they WILL find a way to make it happen financially. To offset the loans, Transy graduates, on average, make much more than competing colleges.

The University itself is amazing. I feel like my professors are really there for me, and someone is always there to watch out for me. Be warned though, if you look forward to a college where you can nod off in class, text, or do other rude things without the professor noticing, Transy is not for you.

At Transy, you will learn for the sake of learning. You do have a major, but learning how that major interacts with other disciplines is paramount, but that is great. What good is knowing a lot about one subject if you can't apply it towards life?My only complaint about Transy is the Greek Life. It is ranked 4th in the nation, so I guess it is good, but as an independent I am unimpressed. More than 90% of the campus is greek affiliated, and it does make you feel a bit left out, at times. However all in all everyone is friendly.

Question
Transy is a great school for me.Quite BrightEconomics
Transy is a great school for me. I would honestly say that it may not be for everyone, but the comments above that were negative were not true for me. Liberal Arts has nothing to do with being Liberal or Conservative. I believe the professors let students express themselves however they wish and do not express politics in the classroom. Also, I believe only 1/2 of the student population is Greek. I am not and I do not feel left out. There is plenty to do in this city. I am from TN and I love it here.
