LSU is a greatQuite BrightKinesiology
LSU is a great overall experience. It excels both academically and socially which makes it one of the most enjoyable schools in the south. Plus it is free if you are in state.

Question
I feel that going to LSU has beenQuite BrightJournalism
I feel that going to LSU has been a mistake that I will regret for the rest of my life. While TOPS is a great program, it makes it difficult for a student of little means to decide to go out of state, and unfortunately LSU is the only decent public school option in Louisiana. This school will treat you like a number. There is no motivation for any student to succeed or get involved outside of the bare minimum. The greek system has a monopoly on social life. The dorms certainly do not provide a nurturing environment. If you want a fun and intellectually enlightening college experience, do not go to LSU. The whole time I've been here I've felt like it is an extension of high school. I do not recommend that anybody come here. Take loans to go out of state if necessary.

Question
Classic, traditional southern university.Quite BrightGeography and Geosciences
Classic, traditional southern university. Big. The "L" in "LSU" stands for "line". Theres always a line on campus. Traffic is apalling. Classes are either crowded or have a lot of empty desks. Either way, most are still hard to get in to. Technologically speaking, LSU is much more advanced than expected. Great athletics program (football, basketball [men's and women's] and baseball). Students are a bit "stuck up", but there are parties around campus 7 days a week (even during exams!). The university is working very hard to remodel and build new dorms, but many of the existing ones are small, old and falling apart. Academically, the coursework is challenging, but the environment around campus does not encourage good study habits. Concerning greeks - the sororites on campus having been growing every year, boasting increasingly large numbers of active members. Fraternities, on the other hand, have seen their numbers decrease every year.
