The Wentworth Institute of Technology

Wentworthless Institute of Technology is more like it. This place will degrade you and make you feel absolutely invaluable. Coming here, you are simply another headcount and paycheck. You will not receive a proper education you expect to get for the money you pay. It is simply a fraud. It is very misleading for such a rubbish institution to be spoken so highly, and PLEASE do not fall for this silver platter of BS they are trying to sell you. There are a few faculty who actually care about their job and you as a student, but that number is simply not high enough to justify the 32K tuition alone.

Also, the staff and faculty are extremely fake. They may say they care and that you should take advantage of all the programs offered, but realistically, they'll be taking more advantage of you. Most of employees are overpaid and inexperienced in the work they do, or try to do. Simply said, 80% of the materials taught in class do not pertain to your major, or inspire you, or motivate you, or will be on the test.PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, on behalf of all the students here and for the sake of your career, do not attend this place not even if it is your very last option.

Choosing and attending WIT was the best choice I ever made! Before making my decision I read many reviews on websites like this and I was discouraged but after spending a year there I can confidently say that I made the right decision. My experience at WIT was very different from those I read about in other comments and reviews. First of all, I was concerned about the social scene at WIT.. but I actually found it very easy to find friends, especially if you are the type of person who can approach others and is not afraid to talk to people. There are tons of events on campus and as a Freshman you go through WOW or Wentworth Opening Week where you meet like hundreds of new students per day... it's almost impossible not to make at least a few friends during that time. The nightlife was also great especially as a female attending a school that is over 80% male. Although to be completely honest there were definitely some nights that we couldn't find any parties to go to. I have visited some "party schools" and found that the nightlife was actually really similar. If you know anyone that lives off campus you are basically all set but if not it can be somewhat tricky. The whole city is full of nightlife though so you can really just explore and then stumble upon something spontaneous and adventurous if you're interested in that sort of thing.

One negative thing I can say is that I am spending a TON of money to go to this school, even with my scholarships and financial aid. That being said, I am extremely confident that I will be able to pay off my debt after school is over because I know I will be able to get a job right out of college. The Co-op program is so awesome and it gives you a good opportunity to see what kinds of jobs you could be working at as your full time career. It also helps WIT has amazing connections with a lot of really big/ impressive companies inside and outside of Boston.

If you are someone who has a good idea of what you would like your major or career to be then WIT would probably be a really good fit for you! I started out totally sure that I was going to be an architect then totally changed my mind and switched my major after the first half of the year and it was super easy to do. All of the faculty and advisors that helped me decide on a new major and organize / transfer my credits were really understanding and were all really helpful through the process.

One last piece of advice I can give is to VISIT!!!!! It is especially nice to come during an accepted students day or an open house because the campus is more alive, but if you are interested in WIT you definitely need to see the school and see what it's all about. Talk to students and ask all of your questions. In my experience as a HS student touring WIT, and then as a student at WIT, the current students are more than willing, perhaps even excited to answer your questions. Also, after your tour you should take a walk or drive or T ride around the city if you aren't already a Boston native. Boston is such a beautiful city and while attending WIT, Boston has become my home. Hopefully my ranting was at least slightly helpful to someone! I'm so proud / in love with my school that I needed to share my opinions :)

I've been attending Wentworth for two years and have another two years to go.
There are a couple positive things about this I can say about this school. This school isn't difficult to get in and the tuition is cheaper than other private schools. This school also provides their students with laptops. The school has a great location, located in Boston near the other colleges. I've also heard that Wentworth has an excellent co-op program, but I haven't started mine yet; so I'm not entirely sure how true this is.

The downside of this school is some of its faculty and students. At least half of my professors disappointed me one way or another. Most of the time, the professors are nice and have a lot of experience, but they just don't know how to teach. The campus also isn't very lively. You walk past a number of sad faces while on campus. For a small student body, you would expect students to interact with each other more, but that isn't the case.If you're looking for a college to get your degree and leave, then this school is perfect for you because of its cost and its co-op program. If you're looking for a "college" experience, as in meeting new people or even just a better learning experience, then look at a different school. What this school does for is get you a degree and that's it.
