Great school with great food.
Bowdoin students are hard working, and they balance study and play time.
The school is academically challenging, but in the end it is worth it.

Average
Good: There is something about this campus that allows you find your niche, complete with good friends and activities you really care about. People here are bright and natural. Housing is very diverse. Freshmen get very comfortable two-room doubles (living room and bedroom), and after that, there are several options (singles, doubles, triples, quads, apartments, and college Houses).

Bad: The college administration really hides how much drinking goes on campus. At least as a freshman, other freshmen think you're handicapped if you don't party or drink weekends. If you don't, it's hard to find things to do, unless you have a very dynamic, creative personality. In general, people are very apathetic about events on campus that don't involve partying, with the exception of a capella concerts and improv shows. Everyone really cares about their own clubs/extracurriculars, but getting a good turnout at events is difficult. For out of state students, if you don't have a car, travel is a huge hassle. Also, if you have big ambitious for your career, this is not the place to make prestigious connections, because most people here aren't as interested in, say, making money or earning a big name as they are in doing something they really love. A lot of people here are also the type to retire to some obscure corner of the East Coast because they like small towns/country side.
Useful Schoolwork: A+, Campus Aesthetics: C-

Quite Bright
My professors at Bowdoin inspired me to put my intellectual energy into my school work in a way that I didn't prior to college. I don't know if I'd be where I am (a top five law school) if I'd gone to a college or university where the professors were less teaching-oriented. Bowdoin is beautiful, and I enjoyed my time there.

Super Brilliant
There is like so little diversity here. They are trying hard to pick minorities, but they end up with mostly study freaks who stay in their dorms all the time. If you are a minority going here its an eye opening experience seeing so many white people because you learn so much from them, well that only works out if you are sociable. Its not hard to be sociable because the people are SO NICE.
