High Point University is a fine institution. There are about 3,000 students that attend. Most students (around 60-70%) are from out of state, and most of them live on campus. Faculty, staff, and students in leadership positions are all very good with strong adminsitration, excellent faculty, and active student involvement. A new president started in early 2005 who is fostering some positive changes as well.
The library is good, but could be a little better.
The housing situation is debatable. When compared to larger public universities, they are quite good. Compared to some other smaller private colleges, not so much.
This is a place where the school has money, and so does the student body, but it does not come across as being a "snob" school to me.
HPU is extremely concerned with its exterior appearance and is probably one of the most attractive college campuses in the nation. Academic buildings are well maintained, and the technology infrastructure is better than most schools its size.The City of High Point provides some things to do for college aged students, but there are two larger cities close by as well.

Good choice if you like a small school atmosphere. The faculty is very friendly and helpful. Some of the professors offer extra study sessions for major tests. The school is in great shape although the freshman dorms could be better, but that is fairly common at most schools. There are several new apartment style dorms that are great. The fraternities and sorrorities are very strong at HPU and have parties every weekend. I like it here much more than I thought I would.

High Point is a small campus best suited for the person who likes to form close-knit relationships with both fellow classmates and professors. These relationships will last well beyond your college years. The faculty is that of a elementary school teacher. They will for you to succeed and care about your life.
