Ohio Northern University

Some things need to be known:
-The town ONU resides in is smaller than the University.
-The county is technically dry, so nothing above 60 proof is for sale. Head to Lima.
-There are only 2 places open late to eat (past midnight). -Cops are generally alright, unless you're being an ass, or their in a bad mood from someone else being an ass. Then you're screwed.

-There is one grocery store, and it's has a good selection, but bad hours.
-Nearest shopping place is Lima, about a 20 minute drive up the road.
-Cafeteria is fairly good, and has gotten better with time. Hours are still dumb.
-Parties are annoying to find until you have a strong social network of friends, which isn't hard to acquire.

-P2P, Torrents, and the like do not work on campus. Get all your music beforehand, or start trading CD's.

-The small atmosphere is nice, and helps to keep calm when finals are stressing you out.-The worst winters I've ever experienced were in Ada. And the wind can get really crazy.

Campus Aesthetics: A+, Surrounding City: F

ONU Pharmacy is greatly overrated and overpriced! About a quarter of the pharmacy faculty were great, as for the rest, just be glad they are not working as pharmacists. Don't trust the pharmacy school's administration, something is just not right there. The biology department's faculty were all excellent while I was there, however. During your last 2 years on campus, you are in the same room with your entire annoying class all day which makes for a horrible learning environment. Furthermore, it is boring as hell there. Sure, it looks good during those visit days when you're still in high school, but do think twice because it still is high school. Admissions says it is diverse...everyone is the same. If I had to do it again I would go to a larger, state school...Have more fun, spend less, and thus owe less. Furthermore, you have more internship options to actually apply what you're learning at a school located in a larger city. There is nowhere to work in Ada. (Limited places to live too...all the off-campus rentals should be condemned, by the way) In pharmacy, neither the school's reputation, nor what grades you received matter. If you have a license, you're going to get a great paying job. You can work hard and graduate with great grades and end up working for the same company that employs some of the biggest idiots in your class that you thought would never make it!!!
