I am currently a freshman at this university. Not so bright
I am currently a freshman at this university. I have realized this school is like a stepping stone for the students that go here. Many students live in pa and go home on the weekends. This school is like high school all over again because of it's small size and the students here are immature. The school isn't awful, but it's definitely not great. The school though does have a very nice campus. There are parties on weekends, but other then that there isn't much to do at all if you don't have a car. I am most likely transferring next year.

Don't go to DeSales unless you really enjoyedOther
Don't go to DeSales unless you really enjoyed high school, because it is run just like a high school. You are not treated like an adult and most classes still take attendance and treat you like a child.

Also, the Catholicism is everywhere, including no meat on Fridays during Lent (defeating the whole purpose of Lent anyway...it should be an active choice rather than a mandate). Also, the dorm rules about men and women mixing are ridiculous. The Televison/Film program showed some progressiveness, but any teachers who had an inkling about free speech and art were drummed out.

The students are mostly, white, boring, republican, catholic, narrow-minded, homophobic, anti-semitic, etc. There is no diversity.

Don't go to this school unless you have a lot of money, enjoy all white people, think abortion is a sin, hate gays, and prefer striving towards the middle. And if you do go there, do not live on campus. The food is bland and terrible. All this being said, I did have positive experiences at the school, most of them being social and not having to do with my education. However, the current TV/Film program has made my degree worthless.

Question
This is my first year here at DSUBrightUndecided
This is my first year here at DSU and and isnt what I expected it would be. For a catholic campus you wouldnt believe the amount of drugs passed around on campus. A majority of the students living on and off campus are all regular pot smokers or abuse drugs of a higher level. Alcohol is everywhere. SERIOUSLY EVERYWHERE! Ive never seen so much in my life and trust me I have been around it all before. All the students buy or sell adderall. The faculty for the most part isnt helpful whatsoever. Nobody is there during their office hours and nobody ever wants to help any of the students. The campus dorms arent to bad but the security is horrible. I know students that have had stuff stolen and security could care less. All they do is hand out tickets for parking. They ziplock the windows so the opposite sex cannot come in past 11 but nobody does a thing about the drugs. WORST SCHOOL. I wish I was transferring. State school would be more worth it.
