Positive Negative Neutral Advice
Because of the spartan campus life, BJU isEducation
Because of the spartan campus life, BJU is obviously not for everyone, even some with strong Christian beliefs. However, the disciplined nature of the school did have advantages for me. The structure of the school helped change me from a very undisciplined, procrastinating high school student into a serious college student who got up at 7AM on Saturdays and finished all of his reading assignments for the next week by noon. I honestly think I read every word of every text in every class I took, and I only missed one class in four years.

I did not agree with all of the school's ideology, such as their views on dating and music, but I conformed to their standards. The biggest negative for me was the attitude of many of the students that if you don't completely agree with them, you are wrong. Thankfully, most of my professors were more open-minded than that.If I had to do it all over again, I would still go there, but I can only recommend it to students who know what they are getting into.

Religion/Religious
I found my time at BJU to be a great help in my personal and academic growth. I continue to be thankful that I went to BJU.

Question
This school was awful.Business - Management and Administration
This school was awful. I think 4 year olds at KinderCare have more freedom than BJU students. I also think that an 18 year old in college should at least be able to watch a PG-13 movie. You too can know how awful life can be when you enroll at Jonestown!

As a result of how terrible this "Christian" shithole was I dropped out after the first year and went to get a real education which I received at an ACCREDITED state university. I have had two great jobs in Retail Buying with two great companies since my college graduation in 1999. I know that I would not be where I am today, makng the money I am making, if I had stayed at BJU. In fact, I know I wouldn't be because if I'd have stayed at BJU I would have probably killed myself.

College is supposed to be one of the best times of your life but 95-96 is a time I would much sooner forget. BJU is a hypocracy at best... you can join "societies" but they don't have freternities or sororities. Anyways.

I am lucky that my roommate, who ended up finishing there in '99, and I both knew how to keep quiet and keep our mouths shut because he and I were sexually involved and if that would have gotten out at BJU it would have been awful.

Luckily our BJU equivalent of an RA never found out.
If you do go to college, plan on two things afterwards:

1) another degree from somewhere else... a piece of tiolet tissue has more merit than a diploma from BJU.

2) Therapy... the way this school plays head games and pins students against each other will have you unable to tell your ass from your elbow.
