BJ isn't perfect.Journalism
BJ isn't perfect. But I'd go there again. I got a good education there -- not necessarily in my field, though. The journalism department is basically one teacher (Miss Solomon), and the Collegian, although good experience in many ways, didn't teach me how to be a good, nosy, FOIA-comfy reporter. That said, all my classes were super tough, and I'm no idiot. I loved the Bible and history classes most.

The rules: I didn't agree with many of them. Actually, many of them have been revoked since I left, which I think's good, but I'm angry they were in place while I was there. I didn't like being confined to campus. I didn't like being told when to get up (that's changed). But most of the rules I saw a reason for, and that helped.

The people: I met many lifelong friends there. Not everyone's the same; some are snobby, some are righteous "bojes," some are socially clueless, some are great. You'll find your niche, a group of friends who are like you and whom you trust.

Professionally: Being a BJ grad has honestly hurt me in searching for jobs. It's not a plus to have that name on your resume, especially if you're a journalist!

Final thoughts: I learned a ton. I grew closer to God than I've ever been. I learned to think, to use my brain, from amazing professors and friends. I'd send my kids there (but first I've got to find a husband. small detail.)

Feel free to e-mail me if you've got questions: God bless you as you seek to follow the Lord's path for your life.

Question
If being treated like a 3rd grader isQuite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
If being treated like a 3rd grader is your idea of college then you should give up your search for higher education. This is the place for you my friend. You will be given a student handbook upon arrival and be asked to read and it and then sign a statement that you fully understand it and that you will abide by it. In true Christianity there is love and grace. Don't look for either at the bastion of fundamentalism. These are simply theological terms that do not apply to your life at the "world's most unusual university".

Around every bush will be a wonna be apc and pc looking to turn you in so they can practice their "doctrine of SEPARATION"??. You will find this to the the most important word in the fundamentalist vocabulary when you attend. As they preach--- We must be separate from the world. We should not associate with the lost. We should not go to the places they go, we should not wear our hair the way they wear it, we should not dress the way they dress, we should not listen to the music they listen to. You see, we as Christians are a clean cup of water and the world/lost are a dirty cup of water and when the two mix they both become dirty, not clean. We should only preach to them telling them they are going to hell and they must pray a prayer and then act like us. Legalism will be your daily mantra. Liberty will not be found. Interestingly this is the only Monarchy run school that I know of in the entire USA. When BJ III stepped down this year no search was made for the most qualified person it was simply handed over to the person with the correct gene pool-- Stephen Jones the Son of BJ III, the son of BJ jr, the son of BJ.

Question
i am a junior and am from georgia.BrightReligion/Religious
i am a junior and am from georgia. i went to a private school and was homeschooled. i decided to comehere after comparing it with other similar schools and found the academics more challenging and the graduates to be more knowledgeable and sound...Well there has been much said by others but i love my school. and that is they way that it will be for some. the school is not that strict. there are guidelines you must follow. if you notice one thing that most people complain about it is the dress code and standards that they force you to live by. so does the us military and other orginazations that present top QUALITY people. There will be rules everywhere that you go. it is a matter of where you go and how far you want to be pushedl. you can go somewhere that doesn't care and you will come out ok. You can come here and come out with something that people will call class. there is nothing like the prison walls and oppressive teachers here. that is told by some who just do not have the discipline to follow simpile rules like. wear a tie in the morning, shave, etc. it is not "super strict" It is not a cake walk either. they will push you and you will come out the better for it or drop out and whine about it for the rest of your life. funny... that is how it is in hard to get into orginazations and the military. the people who finish are looked on with respect and the ones who drop out from bootcamp well those are the ones who hate it, and are always bashing everything about it, because they don't have enough discipline to make it through. but lets also be honest. it is not all rules!! you can talk to people of the other sex, go on dates, play sports and many, many other things. the limit is you. if you come i hope that you will love it as i did. oh yeah...one more thing. there is a lot of talk about the whole not really a christian thing that comes up when folks talk about the school. make sure that you read the statment of the school's creed and make cure you can agree with it. if you can't them i would not come. go with all the oher dropouts to some place "more loving and easy" happy hunting.
