Positive Negative Neutral Advice
If you want a tough complete education, BJUQuite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
If you want a tough complete education, BJU is the place. You are better off not asking for quarter because you will receive none. You are expected to do your own work and to do it at a very high level. This is to prepare you for your "real life" after college. After college a number of people have to re-learn how to work hard in order to get ahead, not BJU grads - you hit the ground running and are noticed by your company. I am receiving an MBA from another "state" school and had no trouble in being admitted to the program. In fact I was accepted at three different "state" institutions, so for me the non-accredidation thing was not a problem. I suggest that the people that had trouble getting into grad school did not deserve to and have chosen to blame BJU. I used to be in the military for a number of years, so when people complain about the rules - it just makes me laugh. I don't agree 100% with BJU, but it is a very fine institution with people that are concerned for you and your success, you won't get that at a lot of schools. As far as BJU causing problems later in life, again I believe that is because these individuals have trouble naturally fitting in with society so they blame BJU. I have had many discussions about BJU with people and they've come away understanding that the school is not inhabited by aliens, we're just regular folks. As far as people having spiritual problems at BJU, people run into problems at different times in their lives and some happen to be while in college. Again, BJU gets the blame because the problem couldn't be with them so it must be the school. Ever heard of personal responsibility? I will say that BJU is not for everybody, but neither are Ivy League schools or the military or any number of other things. Just make a good decision for yourself. If you go there and like it - great. If you go there and hate it - leave. Not real hard, things I don't care for I don't dwell on for years and years, but of course I am sane.

Question
BJU is an excellent place to attend toBrightReligion/Religious
BJU is an excellent place to attend to prepare Christians for the rest their life. The teachers are godly, moral examples that help to that job. I have been impressed during the first semester of my stay here at how easy it is to fit in and to grow in the Lord. I encourage every Christian that wants to live their life according to the Bible to attend this university; not just for the education (which is excellent as well), but to develop morals and standards that will stay with you forever.

I attended BJU for two years (2000-2002) before transferring to another college. Although I was worried about accreditation, I had no problems getting my transfer credits accepted--it wasn't an issue. I can't speak for the grad school issue ... except that I personally know a number of former classmates who are in grad school/med school now.If you are from a conservative Baptist, Christian school background, you fit right in at BJU. Those from other backgrounds have a little more adjusting to do. If I had it to do over, I would probably look for a school that has BJU's great family atmosphere and academic quality, but also two things BJ doesn't have: accreditation and government money.
