I transferred into Bob Jones University after 3Quite BrightCriminal
I transferred into Bob Jones University after 3 semesters at another school and graduated in 2004 with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. I was very impressed with the academics and faculty of the school. As with most BJU students, there were some aspects of student life that I did not care for (ie strict rules), but I enjoyed my time there. The faculty do not get paid as much as in most schools; they teach there because they love the school and they love to teach. The academic standards, at least in my program, were very high; all material and assignments were relevant to my area of study. My GPA at BJU was 3.3 out of 4 and I studied an average of 10-12 hours per week. After graduating from BJU, I enrolled in a "difficult" program at a state school in the area and finished after three semesters. My GPA at that school was a 3.8 and I studied 2-3 hours per week.

In addition to the school itself, the area around BJU has many opportunities available for students. Greenville, SC has a mild climate and is one of the fastest growing areas in the nation. There are many part time job opportunities available for students to work through college. If you are a disciplined student who wants a real education with a biblical perspective, go to Bob Jones. If you want to party at a diploma mill, look elsewhere.

My intent on this site was to commentEnglish
My intent on this site was to comment on my favorite teacher, Dr. St. John. I am a retired/disabled firefighter from NE Ohio. The couple of creative writing classes instructed to me by him, in the early '80's, were the best. Not only were the classes interesting and informative, but I developed an intense respect and admiration for this man. He was warm and inspiring, and his positive Christian attitude and testimony affect me today. Thank you, Dr. St. John.

The school had characteristicsBrightHistory/Histories (art history/etc.)
The school had characteristics of a brain washing institution. No dissent was allowed. Classes were hard because study time was limited due to required activities and bed time curfew.
