is a university with religious orientation. It was founded as
a technical institute in 1946, became a four-year college in
1961, and gained university status in 1989. Its 162-acre campus
is located in the East Texas community of Longview, 120
miles from Dallas. Set apart by a special “spirit of
ingenuity,” LeTourneau University continually builds upon its excellent and innovative
heritage. From nationally acclaimed academics in fields like engineering
and aeronautical science, to excellent programs in the liberal arts,
computer science, education and natural sciences, LeTourneau emphasizes problem solving,
applied knowledge and the integration of faith and learning.
