The biomedicine program is one of the worst. The school in general is very unorganized and the professors, along with a good majority of the students are stuck up. The majority of the people here are very closed-minded and have not experienced much outside of Shenandoah valley. Professors are very closed-minded, while some are even prejudice. If you are of a minority, I would definitely advise you go to another school. But in general do not do a graduate program here at all! The program is definitely not worth the price. Longest two years of my life, and have absolutely nothing to show for it, besides hate for this school. In closing, DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL! save yourself the headache okay?!

I would NOT recommend the Master of Arts in Counseling program at Eastern Mennonite University to my worst enemy. When you are accepted, you are not "in" for sure. There is something called Admission to Candidacy, in which they then decide if you are able to continue in the program. They can decide to defer their decision, which they did in my case, and I waited on pins and needles, feeling as though I was in purgatory, to find out 5 months later that I was, in fact, "in", and it had been a miscommunication. After finding out I was "in", I was excited and thought I was out of the woods, so to speak. They then decided to inform me in January the day before classes started (so I had already bought my books and paid for my classes) that they still had some concerns about my counseling skills. When I told them that I needed to know if I was going to be able to continue because this is important to my future, some professors said, "That must be frustrating not knowing." I stuck out 2 years in that program and now have 42 credits toward a 60-credit-hour Master's degree with a 4.0, and they told me in March that I was not ready for internship. I left EMU, and now if I want to continue to pursue my Master's degree elsewhere, I have heard only 12 credits will transfer. Some people may have a wonderful experience in this program, but I certainly did not.
