 | Quite Bright | The professors are accessible and care about each student. The campus is beautiful. The sense of community really stood out to me as a student. I felt part of a family here and when I was going through a hard time, I felt supported by friends and faculty. You don't have to be a Mennonite to come to EMU. The values of community, caring for God's creation, service, and peace are emphasized here. I am glad I chose to come to EMU. I have made life-long friends and gained an education that has helped me in my career. | Faculty Accessibility: A+, Perceived Campus Safety: B- | | | |

| | Quite Bright | EMU is a good university if you want small classes and personal attention. I really appreciated the flexibility in designing my own combination of majors so that I would be challenged and well-rounded. The professors are awesome and people consistently say they're the #1 reason to choose EMU. The dorms were in serious need of upgrades, but I hear they're getting an overhaul now. I found the Mennonites to be very welcoming, though they definitely have their own culture. You do NOT have to be Mennonite to go there, though. Mennonites are very progressive on social issues, but not so much on religious issues, which makes them about equal with other protestant denominations. Mainline Christians fit right in--no horses and buggies! If you get involved and engage in the community, you'll have a good time, like I did, and come out feeling like a much more informed and intelligent person. If you're just looking for a place to party after high school, go somewhere cheaper. | Faculty Accessibility: A+, Surrounding City: C | | | |

| | Bright | This is no other way to put it. Eastern Mennonite is not a very good college for the price. The girls are homely, and the majority of the student body is socially retarded. The proffesors are merely average, but considering what you have to pay to get in here, I would suggest going somewhere else. The business office was difficult to deal with as well, messing up my financial aid and causing a great deal of frustration. Please save yourself the money and heartache and go to a much better school, like JMU. If you hate interacting with other people, and generally being socially challenged, then you will have a ball here... cosider yourself warned. | Surrounding City: A+, Individual Value: F | | | |
