Positive Negative Neutral Advice
ODU is a great school!! The negative commentsNot so brightPsychology
ODU is a great school!! The negative comments are complete nonsense. Someone got in with a 1.8??? Come on I find that very hard to believe. People complain about the crime but let me put it in perspective for everyone. Columbia University, an Ivy League school, is located right outside of Harlem. There is much more crime there than in Norfolk. People are just itching to give ODU a bad name because they were not successful there and will find any reason to get back at the school. STOP BASHING ODU!!

Question
High crime area.BrightOther
High crime area. Students are not friendly to each other, and everyone stays within their own race and degree. If you're looking for a great community with openness and support, this is not it.

If you're gay, you'll have a LGBT group to support you through tough times.
If you're black, you'll have plenty of black-only groups to help you rise to the top.
If you're international, nearly every major country from around the globe has a club for you, to gather together and unite and have great times and good friends.

If you're a woman, you're in luck. There's a new woman's club opening up nearly every semester to help you out in the fight against men.

If you're a guy trying to talk to any girls on campus, they'll look at you terrified and ready to whip out their pepper spray and numchucks.

The only dating I've done is through Tinder and Bumble, with girls who live in Virginia Beach and go to smaller colleges there. I don't date girls from ODU because it's near impossible.

If you're a white guy, don't go here. You'll end up depressed and alone in your dorm or apartment all day because this school doesn't want you here, and there's few clubs that cater to you. Joining a sport or fraternity is your only chance at survival, and if you're not great at any sports and you don't want to pay $900 extra a semester to join a fraternity (WHICH BY THE WAY, fraternities at ODU are not allowed to have houses) then you're out of luck. Flush your college experience down the toilet.I'm not challenged in any of my classes because this school is catered to students who have under-performed in high school. I spend most of my time off of campus.

Question
ODU is a great research University that isQuite BrightKinesiology
ODU is a great research University that is widely known around the state and east coast. The school has many commuters and only about 11,000 of the 25,000 live on campus or around it. The main problems of the university is the location, its in a very low income area of Norfolk, va. Another is the food, its god awful. Besides that, you get a great college experience with a city school feel similar to U pitt or NYU.
