Question
ODU has no culture,Quite BrightAccounting
ODU has no culture, its definitely a bad move if your an out-of-state student. ODU has an arid enviroment and I am not talking about the the weather. I've been here for almost 2 yrs and my time here has been terrible.

Question
I attended old dominion to be part ofBrightArt & Design Department
I attended old dominion to be part of the theater department as an actor. The facalty were are great educators individualy and I learned a lot from all of them. The main theater is quite nice and the secondary theater is alright. There are very good supplyes avalable for film students, such as HD cameras. The students in the theater program are a diverce and entertaining bunch and thechnical theater department are very skiled and deticated especially the desiners of the sets and costumes. Unfortunetly the professors, though very knowlagable and skilled, spend most of their time bickoring like highschool students. They spend more time playing power games amoungst one another and geting wraped up in thier oun ego trips to accopmlish anything, witch is sad because they have the potential and recorces to creat extraordinary works. The student body are primaraly self obsorbed igrnorant biggots from the surrounding arieas and all the culteral divercity is mostly devided into clicks of frends carried over from highschool, with the same immature and often racist attituds, but that might speak more about for the state than the school. Either way most of these kids haven't ventured further than the naboring counties in thier entire lives and only perpetuate thier ignorance by going back to their parnts homes every weekend to hang out with their childhood buddies instead of attempting to creat new realationships at ODU. The parties are alomst completly centerd around the greek comunity (with the exeption of the rugby team) and these parties are realy the only fun to have in the ariea. Joining a fraturnity is the best way to meet people but for every good person ther is two ignorant jerks to accompany them. Not to mention the parties become monotoness twords the end of the first semester, and are all but dead by the second semester. Your best bet fraturnity wise is TKE or KDR. The freshmen dorms are unacseptable. They cram 4 students into sweets obviously ment for 2 people. These rooms are barly big enough for one person to live and its rediculas to cram two students per appartment, and its an absolut joke to have 4 people to one connected bathroom. The cleaning and mantenece staff are complettly incompitant and don't do thier job at all. The only thing the maintenecne team seems to be capable of doing is barging into rooms and confiscating extention cords, other than that, they are completely useless and lazy and should be fired. The food is awfull and will absolutly make you sick more than once, and even the "fresh" choices like froot or salid are uneddably unripe or litteraly rotting in the serving trays. The girls primaraly range from unapprochable to trashy and the rest are taken or commuters that youll never see outside of class. A lot of students drink and do drugs, probubly because it's the only way to keep from going insane with bordom. So if your into that, prepar to be realy into it by the end of your first semester. Thier is a lot of new development that might chang things for the better, but dont expect anything significant for at least 2-5 years.
