Positive Negative Neutral Advice
This review is based on my experience atBrightComputer Science
This review is based on my experience at APUS, having gained my AS in Computer Applications there. First, the classes, the system and the overall approach I like. Its simple, effective and the work is enough but not unapproachable for a working adult. That said, this review is negative because of the financial aide department. IT IS ABSOULUTLEY THE WORST I have ever encountered in the 38 years of my life. I cant go to school because they keep screwing shit up. Not to mention, they done my wife the same way so I know its not a fluke. Theres no inter office communication, so if you dont obtain one individual to deal with then you will constantly be repeating yourself day in and out submitting the same information 20 times and getting no where. Its utter ridiculousness.

So understand this - if I were reviewing the school based on the degree program, professors and the content then Im totally satisfied. However, Im not - Im submitting this review on the financial aide department - its ridiculous and is so frustrating I will not continue my education here. I was previously a DeVry student and I left because of the HUGE cost, I miss it. I guess you get what you pay for.

This online University is incredibly stingy on givingQuite BrightOther
This online University is incredibly stingy on giving credit for prior courses completed. There is no clarity of communication outside of the classroom. After the course ends you need to contact your instructor via their campus email, not the classroom email.... but then they're going to respond to you back in the classroom email? I thought we weren't talking in there anymore? It's just how I would expect an online school to be I guess. Every class wants you to use the APUS library, but there is so much missing from it, it's nearly impossible to find specific studies. It's nice that the books are online. You get what you pay for.

If you're not a military member and areSuper BrilliantOther
If you're not a military member and are thinking about about attending this school, don't count on financial aid for any help whatsoever. I invested almost two years of my time, and 15k in loans, just to be told that I ran out of aid and could no longer take classes. The best part -- I only found out when I called FA to inquiry on a DIFFERENT issue. This is information I should have been given, in a REAL financial aid package, when I first started taking classes so that I could plan accordingly. Despite being a member of two honor societies and holding a 4.0 GPA, they treated me like garbage. Took as much from me as they could and cut me loose when the loans ran dry. THIS SCHOOL DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR SUCCESS.
