Purdue is a wonderful university that is doing a great deal to improve its already sound reputation. One must realize that it is located in the conservative midwest which may or may not be a disadvantage. It can be a technical, competitive, and rigorous school, but really it is whatever you make of it. I find the atmosphere to be friendly, but if you are looking for a "party" school, this is not the place to be. It seems like most of the students that I have met that do not like Purdue did not really know what they wanted in the beginning of their college selection process. You cannot come to Purdue expecting to be the big man on campus or even begin to think that you will be among one of the smartest. I am just another face in the crowd, but getting involved in extracurricular activities and making life-long friends can really make a difference in your enjoyment of the school. I chose Purdue because it looked like it fit me and it has lived up to its expectations.
