At the moment I don't have time to write a thorough review but I will say that there are good things and bad things about having graduated from Davidson. Very profound eh? Seriously though. A few of the worst things: 1 - no one knows Davidson College from Davidson Community College when you get North of the Mason Dixie Line, 2 - no one will know that your GPA would have been a full point higher if you had gone to any other top tier school, and 3 - don't expect much of an alumni network, unless you end up in the Southeast. On the other hand there are also a number of nice things about being a Davidson Alum: 1 - when you do run into a fellow alum, you can be sure that you'll have a lot to talk about and common friends, 2 - you really will be well prepared for the real world, you'll handle yourself better in a competitive envirnment than most others and you'll be confident of yourself since you made it through DC, 3 - Davidson is a great place to go back and visit.

One final thought. Davidson really is as hard as everyone says it is. If you are debating over whether or not to go, be aware that you need to have a strong work ethic to do well. If you went to a high school where you got by without doing much work, Davidson will not be a good place for you. You may enjoy it, but you won't do well. You'll get more milage out of a bigger name school like Duke, Georgetown, or even Boston College where you can work less and get better grades. Davidson is great if you can balance work and pleasure, but take a candid look at yourself and decide if you're ready for the challenge before you get too attached to the beautiful campus and friendly students.
