If you want to receive a low-quality education while attending classes with low-quality classmates, then this is the place to go. When you throw in the depressingly stagnant city of Columbia into the mix, you get a wonderful combination. While the honors college does offer numerous special benefits and has engaging and intelligent students, the difference between honors students and regular students is staggering. There is also not enough attention on understanding and creativity in the classes. It is only necessary to regurgitate information to earn a very high grade. While the professors are entertaining enough, there are very, very few actual scholars working at USC. The average student that is thinking of attending USC could get into a better school in a better location. Columbia has a very small bar and club scene, and anyone interested in the arts is going to be disappointed when faced with the city's paltry offerings.
